This is one of the most common and heartbreaking questions I hear. So many Christian women feel like they are letting God down, that He must be disappointed in them, or that His love is conditional, it is given only when they "get it right." But this is not the truth.
God isn't waiting for you to perform perfectly. He isn't looking for reasons to withdraw His love. He isn’t surprised when you struggle. He already knows every weakness, every mistake, and every moment of doubt you will ever have and He loves you fully, completely, and unconditionally.
Romans 5:8 makes this clear:
"But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Think about that. While we were still sinners—before we even turned to Him—He chose to love us so much that He gave His Son to rescue us. His love isn’t based on how good you are. It’s based on how good He is.
John 3:16 confirms this:
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”
God’s love is a gift. It is not a reward for good behavior. You don’t have to work for it. You don’t have to prove yourself worthy of it.
Some believe that when they sin, God pulls away from them, disappointed. But Scripture tells us the opposite.
1 John 1:9 assures us:
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
He doesn’t say, "If you confess your sins, I’ll think about forgiving you." He says He is faithful. That means He does not change His mind about you.
Psalm 86:15 reminds us:
"But You, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness."
God is not quick to be angry. He is patient, merciful, and overflowing with love.
Sometimes, we don’t feel loved by God. But love is not a feeling—it’s a truth.
Romans 8:37-39 tells us that nothing, no sin, no failure, no fear, can separate us from God’s love:
“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Did you catch that? Nothing in all creation can separate you from God’s love.
You might feel distant from God at times, but He has never left you. He is always near. His love is not based on your performance, It’s based on His character.
1 John 3:1 says:
"See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are."
If you have put your faith in Jesus, you are His child. He delights in you, not because of what you do, but because of who He is.
We often project our own experiences of disappointment onto God. Maybe you’ve had people in your life who made you feel like you had to earn their approval. But God is not like people.
Zephaniah 3:17 paints a beautiful picture of how God feels about you:
“The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you by His love; He will exult over you with loud singing.”
Does that sound like a God who is shaking His head in disappointment? No! He is rejoicing over you. He delights in you. He sings over you.
When you sin or struggle, He does not turn away from you. He does what a loving Father does. He guides you, restores you, and teaches you how to walk in His ways.
Think about a toddler learning to walk. Do we get angry or disappointed when they stumble? Of course not! We celebrate every step and encourage them to keep going.
God does the same with you. He knows growth takes time. He is patient. He is kind. He is faithful.
God’s love is already given, but you must choose to receive it.
Romans 5:5 tells us:
“God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”
The love is already there. But sometimes, we block it with our doubts, our fears, or our belief that we have to earn it.
1 John 4:18 tells us:
“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.”
If you are afraid that God is disappointed in you, it means you haven’t fully accepted His love yet.
Here’s how you can begin:
1️⃣ Know His Love: Read the Scriptures that declare His love for you. Meditate on them daily.
2️⃣ Believe His Love: Make a decision that God is not lying when He says He loves you.
3️⃣ Abide in His Love: Stay connected to Him through prayer, worship, and His Word.
John 15:9 tells us:
“As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. Abide in My love.”
God’s love for you is as strong as His love for Jesus. That’s how deep and unshakable it is.
God’s love is not a fragile thing. It does not break when you fail. It does not weaken when you doubt. It is steadfast, unshakable, and eternal.
Lamentations 3:22-23 says:
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”
Every day is a fresh start. Every morning, His mercy is new.
You don’t have to prove anything to God. You just have to receive His love, walk in His truth, and trust that He is for you, not against you.
So let me ask you today:
💡 Will you choose to believe in His love for you?
💡 Will you choose to let go of fear and trust in His kindness?
💡 Will you receive the peace and joy He is offering you right now?
Say this out loud:
"Father, I thank You that You love me. I choose to believe in Your love, even when I don’t feel it. I reject every lie that says You are disappointed in me. I receive Your grace, Your mercy, and Your peace. I am loved. I am chosen. I am Yours. In Jesus’ name, Amen."
Let this be the beginning of a new way of thinking and living.
